February 2006 an 8 year old girl had the brilliant idea that she could make desserts and sell them to her friends. Her mom, the co-owner allong with her husband, agreed to help her and together they produced a cakepop as their first treat. They started off with a few small orders per month but quickly grew to a few orders per week including larger events like weddings and baby showers).

In October of 2010 CupcakeDropoff.com (our online delivery service) was born to meet the need of the customers who wanted desserts (specifically cupcakes) delivered to them at work. In January of 2011, CucpakeDropoff.com was invited to work with Living Social and ran the first of two deals with them. Between the two deals Dessert Affairs generated over 1500 new customers and the need for a retail space became paramount.

June 2011, Dessert Affairs opened its first mall retail location in Westfield Montgomery Mall. Our second location opened in October 2011 in The Mall in Columbia.

Currently we have a very talented crew of bakers and decorators and wonderful mall staff that take great care of our customers.

The Future

Next up, Dessert Affairs will be franchising its mall locations and opening its own free standing retail location.
